To Art or Not to Art....
Hello, I hope everyone is doing well here. ^^ I'm just writing this journal as a sort of self-retrospection and I guess as an update as to how I'm doing. I'm healthy right now. I've just been busy with assignments and real life obligations and all. To be honest, I feel trapped with where I am right now. I'm not sure if I'm really on the right path in my life. I suppose that's fine since I'm still considered young. Also, usually, I would only draw when I had the time and motivation, and I would have no problem have no problem waiting until that moment comes. But right now, more than anything I really want to draw and it pains me that I cannot put all my ideas into a canvas. But I just refrain from it because my focus is messed up, and I would spend hours on the art instead of only doodling something simple and go back to doing whatever I was supposed to do ^-^; Real life aside, I'm not sure what my goal is as an artist. My only aim is to keep improving. And I heard that's a good goal

Art Feature: Inspire and Empower Resilience
This curated feature is brought to you by @AlexanderPaupoff Why do we fall? This isn’t just a question that echoes through Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, is it? It’s an eternal, inevitable question that permeates our stories. We encounter challenges, face setbacks, and experience moments that test our mettle in the harshest ways. And, of course, we stumble and fall, sometimes even to our lowest. In such moments, we must bear the burden of our vulnerabilities, the sharp edges of our shattered dreams, and the painful sting of our disappointments. And yet, here we are. Spurred by an extraordinary power that will see us rise, time and again, in spite of adversity. Welcome to the first of four features by @AlexanderPaupoff dedicated to mental health awareness and the pursuit of self-care. Together, we’ll delve into the themes of resilience, mindfulness, self-care, and gratitude, essential to our well-being. (Follow @AlexanderPaupoff to see the rest of the features as they are

Values in Composition: Drawing w a Limited Palette
Recently, @CoreLounge hosted a challenge in which people were asked to make a drawing using only three colors: Prompt and image courtesy of @akiestar and @KovoWolf over at @CoreLounge I was SUPER excited when I saw this prompt, because aside from being challenging, it was an EXCELLENT teaching tool / practice exercise. Why? Because, to fulfill it, you needed to apply knowledge in composition, values, and alternative shading techniques. I asked @akiestar if I could write an article breaking the challenge down into its components, and he said yes, so here we are! While the official CoreLounge challenge allowed people to combine the shades above to create "secondary" and "tertiary" colors, for this article, we'll use ONLY the three colors, pure, because that adds another learning element that's useful to explore. Ready? Let's go! 1. HOW TO APPLY COLOR? (MEDIUM) First, how, technically, do we use only the three colors, without combining them? I saw some people wondering
Hu guys! How have you been? The last two weeks have been quite nervous for us... apart from disturbing news, Freddie suddenly fell ill. Of the possible diagnoses, the vet said it could be a foreign object or a polyp in the nose... or something even worse... Fortunately, we found a good infectious disease veterinarian in another city. After some blood tests, it turned out to be a bacterial infection. Freddie is receiving antibiotic treatment now, and he seems to be doing much better. We are always very worried about Freddie's health, because when we found him back in 2019, he had two neoplasms... As you remember, he had to go through several surgeries T^T Let's hope everything goes well now! In other news, we would like to announce a Big Commission Sale of 2023! 5 slots are open! 15% discount for Commissions| Animation Commissions and 30% for YCH Arts | YCH Animations Hurry up and fill the commission form if you're interested 😊 Thank you! That's all for now. Take care guys!
AI art has been a big concern for artists lately. We have a question for those who have ever commissioned an artist: will you stop buying commissions when there is AI art (which is free or much cheaper than a commission)?
